Status Report # 3 Commhut – Home Security Wire Protection System Team 7 Ronald, Orlando, Robert, Jaime An interfacing module to communicate with previously designed protective case.

 OVERALL NEED: To protect the communication lines of home security systems by detecting intrusion.  DESIGN MILESTONES: ◦ Develop Detailed Schematics for interface (On going) ◦ Receive sample code and sample products from Mr. Poston (Mid February) ◦ Interface modem with the PIC Microcontroller (2/20/09) ◦ Continue constructing source code for PIC (2/20/09)

 Team meeting to discuss different methods of implementing sensors and further discussion of the case. (2/11/09)  Began organizing sections of sample code into main program.(2/13/09)  Began construction on power phase of design. (2/13/09)

 Develop Functional Code to link modem with microcontroller.  Test protective case in all possible environments it might encounter.  Finalize design of modem/PIC interface.  Finalize and upload fully functional website.

 Continue building the project test site. (2/18/09)  Complete case design and contact machine shop. (2/20/09)  Begin interfacing PIC and modem. (2/20/09)  Complete power phase including back up power. (2/20/09)
