Open Dump Def: An uncovered site used for disposal of waste without environmental controls

Landfill Def. - A place where solid waste is buried

leachate Def. - The liquid that accumulates at the bottom of a trashbag or trashcan

Sanitary Landfill def. - constructed to hold wastes more safely than an open dump because it has a plastic or clay liner
