Living with Plastics Every year, more than 200 Million tonnes of plastics are produced all over the world. 200 Million tonnes = 200,000,000,000 kilograms!

Living with Plastics Every week, 10 Billion plastic bags are used around the world 10 Billion = 10,000,000,000 plastic bags!

What We Throw Away Sadly, every year 6 Million tonnes of rubbish and thrash that we throw away end up in our Oceans. 90% of the rubbish are PLASTICS! 6 Million tonnes = 6,000,000,000 kilograms

What We Throw Away Plastics that we throw away go into the drain, then into streams, rivers and finally, the oceans.

What We Throw Away Plastics take MORE THAN 450 YEARS to decompose (i.e. to break down)

What We Throw Away Today it is estimated that 100 Million tonnes of plastics are FLOATING in our Oceans.

What We Throw Away These floating plastics then come together in areas called the “Plastic Soup”

What We Throw Away In the ocean, plastic materials break into smaller pieces that float in the sea water like “soup".
