Week 1: Kick Off Activities - Kick Off, Exposure to current environmental issues and actions, Interactive student binder Resources- Members of Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter Milestones - Students build client relations and start collaborating with peers in groups

Week 2: Research Begins Activities - Student groups organized and topics selected for research Resources - San Diego Metropolitan Wastewater Department Surfrider Blue Water Task Force Algalita Marine Research Foundation Milestone- Content Experts teach students about environmental issues

Weeks 3-4: Get Involved Activities - 3 Concepts developed for Media campaign on an issue, Beach Clean Up, Field Trip to Birch Aquarium, Research continues Resources- Surfrider’s Beach Cleanup, Birch Aquarium at Scripps Milestone - Bonding among students and educational staff

Weeks 5-6: Field Trip Activities - Natural History Museum + Reuben H. Fleet Science Center Field Trip, Historical Investigation on topic, Students develop data collecting skills in Science Resources- San Diego Natural History Museum, Science Center Milestone- Students gain new perspective on local resources

Week 7: Interview Experts Activities - Students establish interview appointments with content experts, Present first set of Media campaign concepts to client Resource- team11dmd.blogspot.com Milestones - Students meet with Surfrider representatives for feedback on initial designs

Weeks 8-10: Production Activities - Historical Investigation due with incorporated science data, Production on Media campaign continues with client feedback, Interviews conducted with field experts Resources - team11dmd.blogspot.com

Week 11: Assemble Knowledge Activities - Assign Powerpoint for students to assemble Media campaign, Historical Investigation and Scientific data

Week 12: Organize Media Package Activities - Students meet with client to share 2nd round of Media campaign concepts Milestone - Students head into the final phase of completing their media products

Week 13: Mock Presentation Activities- Students participate in mock presentations of their Media campaign, Historical Investigation and Scientific Data Milestone - Students will gain peer feedback prior to unveiling the media package for the client

Week 14 : Prepare Media Activities - Students refine Media campaign and presentation based on peer and teacher feedback

Week 15: Campaign Unveiling Activities - Meet with Surfrider to unveil the final Media campaign Milestone - Client will select 3 top designs for printing.
