ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING Voting for General Conference Delegates at Adjourned Session will be done by electronic balloting. The company contracted for this process is Padgett Communications. They have experience working with conferences and jurisdictions of the United Methodist Church.

ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING To simplify and expedite the delegate voting process, we will: 1.Use electronic voting devices only for delegate voting. All other voting will be done by hand votes. 2. Assign voting devices only to those who can vote for General Conference delegates.

ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING Who can vote for Clergy Delegates? Full Clergy Members, active or retired Associate Clergy Members Provisional Clergy Members Local Pastors who have completed COS or MDiv, and have been appointed since at least 7/1/13

ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING PLEASE NOTE: Laypersons serving churches in the capacity of Lay Supply, or Christ Servant Minister, or Certified Lay Minister do not have clergy status and are not able to vote for clergy delegates.

ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING Who can vote for Lay Delegates? ALL Lay Members of Annual Conference This includes, but is not limited to: Persons elected by their local church to represent them. Persons elected by their district as Lay Equalizing members. Persons who are members by position (diaconal ministers, deaconesses, lay missioners, UMM & UMW chairs, Lay Leader, etc., etc.)

ADJOURNED SESSION VOTING PLEASE NOTE: Laypersons serving churches in the capacity of Lay Supply, or Christ Servant Minister, or Certified Lay Minister are not able to vote for lay delegates unless they have been elected by a church as its lay representative, or by their district as a Lay Equalizing Delegate, or are a member by position (diaconal minister, lay missioner, etc.).

General Conference Voting Clergy will vote for 4 Clergy Delegates and Laity will vote for 4 Lay Delegates Jurisdictional Conference Voting Clergy will vote for 4 additional Clergy Delegates, and Laity will vote for 4 additional Lay Delegates Alternate Delegates Voting Clergy and Laity will separately vote for 3 Alternate Delegates.

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS Conference rules allow for write-in ballots for clergy and laity. To vote for someone other than those already nominated, there will be 4 ballot slots listed for write-in votes after those already nominated.

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS They will be labeled as: Write-in #1 Write-in #2 Write-in #3 Write-in #4

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS To vote for someone other than those already nominated, you will choose one of the additional ballot slots listed for write-in nominations for each person you wish vote for by write-in ballot (with the total number of your votes for each ballot equaling the number you must vote for on any given ballot: 4,3,2, or 1).

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS Important 2 nd Step to cast a write-in vote: After entering a write-in vote on the keypad, you must submit a write-in card through a Teller, indicating the name and number of the person(s) for whom you are casting a write-in vote. [Tellers will distribute cards to those requesting them.]

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS After the votes of each ballot are compiled, the results will be displayed on the video screens. The first screen will show the results for those already nominated. The second screen will show the results for write-in votes.

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESS At the discretion of the Judge of Elections, write-in candidates may be moved to keypad voting with those already nominated. If this is done, that person will be given a new number, and the change will be announced.

DELEGATE WRITE IN PROCESSNote Unless is it announced that the Judge of Elections has moved a write-in candidate to keypad voting with those already nominated, you must continue to use the write-in process for each successive ballot. Write-ins only count for each individual ballot.

NOMINATIONS FROM THE FLOOR Conference rules allow laity to make nominations from the floor. To do this, a person must submit to the Judge of Elections a nomination form with the names of 10 nominators (who have not already nominated 10 people), plus 500 copies of a bio statement. The nomination form, and bio statement form can be obtained from the Judge of Elections.
