Abide in Jesus

Two Keys For Understanding John 15: A Keyword: “Abide” – “To accept and act in accordance with” – For example: We can “abide by” our boss’s decision. We can “abide by” a judge’s ruling. We can “abide by” a parent’s curfew. 2.A Dynamic Setting: The last hours before Jesus’ betrayal & crucifixion. – Jesus spoke in figurative language to prepare them, without overwhelming them.

“I Am The True Vine…” I Have An Incredible Assignment I Want You To Accept. (vs. 1-2) I Know You Are The Right People For The Job Because You’ve Heard How I Do Things. (vs. 3) The Only Way This Will Work Is If You Accept & Act In Accordance With My Leadership. (vs. 4) Stick With Me, And The Results Will Be Awesome. But, If You Ignore Me You’ll Regret It. (vs. 5-6) Anything You Need On This Assignment, I’ll Make Sure You Get It. (vs. 7)

“I Am The True Vine…” Do This Job The Way I Would Do It, And I Guarantee You’ll Get Noticed & Promoted. (vs. 8) I’ve Been Well Taken Care Of. Stick With Me, And You’ll Be Well Taken Care Of Too. (vs. 9) As Long As You Follow My Instructions, I’ll Be Your Number One Supporter. You’ve Seen In Me That’s The Way Things Work Around Here. (vs. 10) I’ve Told You All This Because I Am Excited To See You Succeed. And, Because I Know You’re Going To Enjoy This Assignment More Than You Can Even Imagine Today. (vs. 11)

Abiding In Jesus During 2013 Will Bring…. A Constant Connection As We Grow. A Cycle of Fruitfulness & Joy. A Clear Mission To Carry Out.
