Consistency Increases usability of your Web site.

Navigation A navigation bar should be in the same place on each page of your site Navigation buttons and other elements should always behave the same throughout the site

Image Images should be well suited to the message being conveyed by the page Images should not be used to just decorate the page

Content Text has the appropriate voice for the audience being reached A good mixture of text, images and other elements break up the page Multiple pages should be created to break up the content if necessary

Update and Maintain All websites need to be updated and maintained to increase consistency Link rot is a result of not keeping websites updated and maintained Links on a website gradually become irrelevant or broken as time goes on, because websites that they link to disappear, change their content or redirect to new locations 6% of Web sites suffer from Link rot Link rot dissolves the interconnectivity of the Web
