ASTON PARK RANGERS UNDER 8 SEASON 2014/15
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER AWARD OWEN FROST Owen joined us a couple of months into the season and we could tell from the start that he really enjoyed being a member of the squad. He trained for a few weeks and came on in leaps and bounds under the careful eye of Coach Paul. It soon became clear that Owen would be an asset to the team with his desire to play, tough tackling and great work ethic. He had his first game towards the end of November and immediately made an impact - in his second game he got his first Man of the Match trophy. Well done Owen!
CLUBMAN AWARD JOSH NUTTALL Josh has been a pleasure to coach this season. He is always polite, well-behaved and gives 100% in both training and games. His skills continue to improve and he is well-known for his crunching tackles. The under 8 coaches appreciate his attitude and effort so this award is well deserved. Congratulations Josh!
PLAYER’S PLAYER AWARD ALFIE RICHARDS Alfie joined us last Summer and it quickly became clear that we had another fantastic player on our hands. Quick, strong and showing enormous skill in defence or midfield he has been a consistently great performer this season. He is a popular member of the squad and was the clear winner in the voting which shows how much his team- mates appreciate him. He is a pleasure to coach and this award is thoroughly deserved. Well done Alfie!
MANAGER’S PLAYER AWARD CHARLIE WILLIAMS Charlie has had a great season. One of the most versatile players in the squad, he is comfortable (and willing to play) in any role on the pitch. As well as his skills as an outfield player he has also shown himself to be a good Goal- Keeper, bravely volunteering to play there on numerous occasions. He has been an ever-present for games and is (almost) always on his best-behaviour at training. His attitude, skills and versatility are an asset to the team. Congratulations Charlie!
FINAL THOUGHTS As most of the coaches would agree, it is difficult choosing individual awards because every player contributes so much to the team. We want to thank the players for their hard work this season and say well done to all. We have to remember that these players are only 7 or 8 years old and will have ups and downs in form, confidence and concentration. It’s just as important that we do not get carried away with high scoring victories as it is if the boys are on the end of a defeat. Mini football is non-competitive for a reason – we want them to have fun. If they’ve enjoyed it, we’ve done the main part of our job. A big thank you to Paul who has assisted with the coaching this season. His help has been much appreciated and the boys have really benefited from his input. Thanks Darren & Mark
