Sport England CSAF funding Bedwell Gets Active July 2014-June 2017 Louise Gallagher Wednesday 9 th July 2014

Overview Background to the funding Demographics The project Partners Implementation How can clubs get involved? Questions

Community Sport Activation Fund is a £47.5 million Lottery funding programme provide grassroots activity at a very local level. Projects can apply for £50,000 - £250,000 for community projects Round 3 Sport England relaxed the requirement for partnership funding for projects which will directly benefit the most deprived communities in England based on the English Indices of Deprivation (IMD).If the substantial majority (80% or more) of the targeted participants for your project live in local authority ward areas with an IMD score of 25 or higher then an application could be made without partnership funding. Background

Demographics In 2012/13 (APS7) 22.1% of those aged 16+ in Stevenage participated in sport 3 times per week, below the Hertfordshire average of 26.14% but higher than the National average of 17.4%. This is the key performance indicator for Sports Development in Stevenage. Only 32% of the adult population of Stevenage participate in 1x30mins of sport per week, the lowest in Hertfordshire and significantly lower than the Hertfordshire average of 39.8%.
