Being Verbs A being verb shows that someone or something is Being verbs do not express any actions Example: Sean is an athlete.

Common Being Verbs Here are examples of common being verbs: am, was, has been, will be, is, were, have been, shall be, are, had been

Present, Past, and Future The tense of the verb lets you know whether something happens in the present, past or in the future.

Many verbs in past tense end with –ed. I finished my sandwich. Sophia watched a movie. A verb in the future tense shows action that will happen. Verbs in the future tense use the helping verb will.
