Art History Survey Art has a life cycle Youth/ primitive in appearance, often experimental with a linear character. Middle-age/ classical in appearance, it becomes more realistic and natural looking Old-age/ the style becomes very extreme and stylized. As we look at different styles from different periods try to discern which of these characteristics best fits the art of the period.
