Project Management Practice Why do most application development projects fail? How can you improve productivity by 20 to 30%? Why are 66% of IT projects late or over budget? Gartner Report – April 18, 2000

Software industry projects fail because…. Software development projects are in jeopardy because they are not managed by experienced project managers using proven methodologies and techniques.

ETR’s project managers employ a time-tested methodology based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (Guide to PMBOK  ). We work with you to develop a comprehensive and realistic project plan. We begin by addressing the root cause of most failed software projects: ETR ensures that the requirements of all stakeholders are captured before development work begins. In a collaborative way ETR and you proactively identify risks in advance and plan how to mitigate them. We work with you to break down the project into discrete packages that yield more accurate time estimates. ETR can develop a project plan that seamlessly includes application testing during the entire project life cycle. By working in this way ETR avoids costly re-work.

You get a higher ROI (Return on Investment) with ETR by reducing risks and managing an implementation plan that allows you to focus on your core competencies. We understand that good project management implies a synergy between time, cost and quality. A synergy that results in happy customers. Higher customer satisfaction, in turn, reduces customer churn and increases repeat business.

Can you afford not to outsource your project management to ETR?  M ake sure ALL requirements have been completely captured and properly documented.  Identify and manage your risks as you develop and manage against a project plan.  Develop critical path schedules that are based on realistic time estimates.  Avoid re-work by incorporating a testing strategy in the project schedule. –  Improve customer satisfaction and increase repeat business.
