Presentation transcript:

 Objective – Pass back tests and make corrections. Introduce new musical style: Disco  Bell Ringer  What is your New Years Resolution?  How do you think you did on the Motown Test?  Right out the sentence that we use for remembering notes on the Treble Clef (hint: for Bass Clef, we would say; good boys do fine always AND all cows eat grass)

 Movement Activity  Pass Back Tests  Go over scores  Take time to complete corrections  Introduction into Disco

 On a blank sheet of paper, write down information that you already know about Disco.  This can be anything from popular disco artists to instruments used in disco.  Take no more then 5 minutes to complete this task

 Disco reached exceptional popularity in the 1970’s and into the early 1980’s  The Disco musical style features a number of different instruments  This song features a popular Disco group; The Bee Gees.  List how many different instruments you hear

 Disco was a style of music that evolved from a number of different musical styles.  One of those musical styles was the Motown Sound  In fact, a number of artists that we have studied have actually produced music that is indicative of the early disco style.
