Inside The Earth By Quinn Williams

Interdiction Earthquake are caused by the earths seismic waves. A seismic wave is an vibration or movement in the earth that makes the earths move.

Primary Waves A primary wave is called a p wave. Primary waves are the first movement or vibration of an earthquake. A primary wave is the fastest wave Primary waves can go through solids, gases, and liquids.

Secondary Wave Secondary waves are called S waves. The secondary waves are the second movement or vibration in a earthquake. A secondary wave is slower than a p waves. It only travels through solids

Surface Waves A surface wave is called a l wave or a long wave A surface wave is the slowest wave of all. A surface wave causes the most damage. A surface wave is felt at the surface.

Seismograph A seismograph is an instrument that scientist track when an earthquake is coming.

Crust Earths crust is a thin rock. We live on Earths crust Earths crust is the most outer layer. Earths crust is the thinnest layer.

Mantle The mantle is the thickest layer. The mantle is below the crust It allows the titanic plates to move around. It is the third hottest layer.

Outer core The outer core is made of melted iron The outer core is below the crust and the mantle. The outer core is totally liquid. The inner core floats in the outer core

Inner core The Inner core is a solid sphere. The Inner core is in the center of the earth! It is very hot
