Norwegian County Libraries and Projects Hordaland County Library as an example

County Libraries Develop public libraries and secondary school libraries in the county governed by The Library Act organize interlibrary loans advice and assist libraries advice local authorities and library owners develop competence for librarians

Hordaland County Library Driving force in library development governed by regional plans and The Library Act initiate, fund and run development projects organized 21 courses, meetings and conferences in 2012 Strategy for competence development Strategy for development of secondary school libraries

Project: Vidsyn De veloped tools to help rural libraries promote cross-cultural information, dialogue and understanding. Courses and university studies for library staff Cooperation with the local introduction office for foreigners Bibliography containing tips of films, music and books Visual profile Funded by the National Library

Our experience through Vidsyn Even the smallest public library can be a vital guardian of democratic rights, providing access to information, creating social networks and being a multicultural meeting place.
