Questions  Do you often praise others?  Are you often praised by others?  Have you ever imagined your college life?  What is your ideal college life like?  Do you like our college?  What do you think of teachers here?

On Praise  Everyone wants to be appreciated for what they have done. They want to be praised, to get other people ’ s recognition, thus they can be more motivated in future work.  You will find everyone have some shining spots, great or small. Pick up all the excellence, and offer your sincere praise, you will find the world different.

separate adj. v. separation The word has three separate meanings.  Our children have separate bedrooms.  The two villages are separated by a highway.  This patient should be separated from the others.  England is separated from France by the Channel.  Separation from his friends made him sad.

individual n. adj.  Each individual person is responsible for his own arrangements.  It is difficult for a teacher to give individual attention to children in a large class.  What a strange individual!  He ’ s quite an individual!

whisper v.  Why are you whispering?  Don ’ t you know it ’ s rude to whisper?  He whispered a word in my ear.  comment n.  He made no comments on our proposal.  The accident caused a lot of comment.

mention v.  Did you mention it to the police?  He mentioned to me that he had seen you.  Whenever I mention playing football, he says he ’ s too busy.  accomplish v. accomplishment n.  accomplish one ’ s aim/ a task  We should not accomplish two tasks at once.

military adj.  He did a year's military service.  military training  handsome adj.  He looks healthy and handsome.  I would describe her as handsome rather beautiful.  a handsome horse/ building/ car
