The Ronald McDonald House Ronald McDonald House Charities is dedicated to improving children’s access to the highest quality health care. For example, the Ronald McDonald House, allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to live at little to no cost. (
E very year, Alpha Delta Pi splits our pledge class in half to do our philanthropy event. One half visits one of the actual Ronald McDonald houses and bakes for kids and helps clean the house. We all helped pass out food and entertain the kids with games and a plane-pull.
One of my friend’s dog had puppies and we took them to the animal shelter in Valdosta so they could be neutered and find a family. I participated in a skit for Zeta’s Big Man on Campus event to raise money for breast cancer.
Second Harvest Food Bank The mission of Second Harvest Food Bank of South Georgia is to end hunger. It is a non-profit organization. I volunteered here by helping send out thank you notes to those who donate food and also send out letters to people requesting donations to help the organization grow.
- Community service has taught me many ways on how to help out our community while having a lot of fun. - It feels good to know that I dedicated hours of my days with no pay to help others. - Seeing all of my friends and sisters come together for a good cause is fun and a great way to bond. - I learn a lot from community service, including possible jobs I may want to pursue in the future.
