Through the Eyes of a Child LAB You get to experience being a child again with all the joys and frustrations that go with it!

Station #1—Coloring Color a picture with crayons using your non dominant hand Have your partner tell you to be careful and try to stay inside the lines throughout your efforts. Were you frustrated? What did you learn from this station about toddlers?

Station #2—Bubbles Have some fun with bubbles. Have your partner blow you some bubbles. BE CAREFUL! Do not spill the bubbles. What is one thing that toddlers can learn by experiencing bubbles?

Station #3—Shopping Time Let’s experience going shopping again through the eyes of a child. Hold your hand up in the air for the entire time at this station…you’d get cranky too if you had to hold your arm up like this while shopping… Explain why toddlers might get grumpy while shopping.

Station #4—Snack Time You get to eat a snack the portion size you should give toddlers. Have your partner tell you to be careful and not spill throughout your snack. It gets annoying, doesn’t it? What portion size should you give to a toddler?

Station #5—Play Time Play with the toddler toys. Have your partner pinch your cheeks and tell you how cute you look while you are trying to play with the toddler toys. What did you learn from this experience about toddlers?

Station #6—Puzzle Time You get to see how fast you can put together a puzzle. Have your partner tell you “you’ve got to hurry up. It’s time to clean up. Hurry!” How do you think this makes toddlers feel when adults do this to them?

Station #7—Empathy Belly Have the teacher help you try on the empathy belly. What does it really feel like to be pregnant? What did you learn from trying on the Empathy Belly?

Station #8—Play Dough Be creative with your play dough. Don’t mix colors!! How does this help toddlers to develop? What did you make?

Station #9—MVP Award Write a Thank you note to your Most Valuable Parents! Address the envelope and turn it in so it will be mailed to your parents.
