 A WEBSITE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED AS ONE OF THE MEANS OF COMMUNICATING WITH ALL OF OUR CONSTITUENTS  DOCUMENTS BEING USED BY THE COMMITTEE, MINUTES, MEETINGS, DRAFTS  ADDRESS:

 MISSION AND PURPOSES  The institution’s mission and purposes are appropriate to higher education, consistent with its charter or other operating authority, and implemented in a manner that complies with the Standards of the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The institution’s mission gives direction to its activities and provides a basis for the assessment and enhancement of the institution’s effectiveness.

 PLANNING AND EVALUATION  The institution undertakes planning and evaluation appropriate to its needs to accomplish and improve the achievement of its mission and purposes. It identifies its planning and evaluation priorities and pursues them effectively.

 THE COMMITTEE HAS REVIEWED THE COLLEGE MISSION STATEMENT, THE STATE COLLEGE MISSION STATEMENT, AND MISSION STATEMENTS FROM A NUMBER OF OTHER INSTITUTIONS.  BASED ON THIS RESEARCH, WE WANT TO IDENTIFY THE CORE VALUES OF THE INSTITUTION, OUR MISSION, OUR VISION AND DEVELOP A STRATEGIC PLAN WHICH REFLECTS THESE.

 BUILD ON PREVIOUS PLANNING DOCUMENTS SUCH AS THE DEPARTMENT ACADEMIC PLANNING STUDY GROUP REPORT(AUGUST 2007) AND THE SECOND STAGE PLANNING GROUP REPORT(2008)  MISSION STATEMENT: EXPLICIT STATEMENT OF THE COLLEGE’S AIMS AND OBJECTIVES. MISSION STATEMENTS DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE OF THE INSTITUTION AND WHAT ALL MEMBERS OF THE COLLEGE ARE ATTEMPTING TO ACHIEVE THROUGH THEIR ENDEAVORS.

 WHAT WE STAND FOR, WHY WE EXIST  VALUES THAT WE WOULD HOLD ONTO EVEN IF IT BECAME A DISADVANTAGE TO DO SO

 WHAT THE COLLEGE ASPIRES TO BECOME  A SHARED PICTURE OF THE FUTURE WE SEEK TO CREATE  A REALISTIC, CREDIBLE, ATTRACTIVE FUTURE

 THE STRATEGIC PLAN SHOULD HELP US CARRY OUT OUR VISION  THE MISSION, THE CORE VALUES AND THE VISION PROVIDE THE BASIS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN

 COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND FACULTY VOLUNTEERS WILL LEAD FACILITATED SESSIONS TO DISCUSS KEY QUESTIONS DESIGNED TO HELP US UNDERSTAND WHAT THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY WANTS TO SEE INCLUDED IN OUR MISSION, CORE VALUES, VISION AND STRATEGIC PLAN.  PLEASE TAKE A ROOM NUMBER AS YOU ARE LEAVING THE AUDITORIUM AND GO TO THE ASSIGNED ROOM TO MEET WITH YOUR FACILITATOR. TODAY’S SESSIONS

THANK YOU FOR HELPING WITH THIS IMPORTANT PROCESS!
