2 Mid Day Meal - Achievements Actionable Points All visited schools provide hot Mid Day Meal to children Buffer stock of grains needs to be ensured. Most enrolled children have opted and benefitted from MDM (17,574 children out of 18,584) Three districts have more than 85 percent of students eating Mid Day Meal on the day of visit. While in Mysore it was relatively lower Variety in the menu with nutrient value could be given priority. Majority of the schools (132 out of 157) had buffer stock of grains. Quality Most schools preparing MDM are supplied with good quality food grains. Most of the students interviewed have confirmed the quality of MDM to be average to good. Students are given adequate quantity of MDM.
3 Impact of Mid Day Meal Actionable Points Parents opined that children have become healthy and attending school regularly. Impact of MDM needs to be evaluated on a pilot basis. There is improvement in enrolment and retention.
