THE ALTRUSA VIEW-CFI STYLE Today’s topic – “Altrusa Membership Opportunities”

ALTRUSA’S LOGO AND BRAND DRIVERS  HOW WILL IT HELP TO GROW, REVITALIZE AND RETAIN OUR MEMBERSHIP?  WHO WILL BENEFIT?

Club Revitalization & Retention How do we excite our current members, and how do we keep them as members?

E MAILS RECEIVED FROM ALTRUSANS Harriet W. wrote – “We’ve been successful at bringing in new, younger members who have been willing to take leadership positions. We also have several long-term members who are loyal Altrusans, have taken their turn as officers, and now mostly want to use the club as a social club that does some service. These seasoned members are quick to let newer officers or other club members know that the newer members are “doing it wrong”. Frank R. wrote – “Many of our members are long-time loyal members who love the traditions of Altrusa and feel special because they were recruited because they were in business or had professional careers. Now that we may be doing away with classifications, how do we help these members accept our newer members who do not seem to be their equal?

E MAILS RECEIVED FROM ALTRUSANS Michelle A. wrote – “Our president is a nice person but not a very good president (disorganized uninspiring, bossy), and it is turning off some of our members who have never served under another president and think this is the true face of Altrusa. How can we convince these newer members to stay?” Elaine G. wrote – “Our club is large, which makes it hard to get to know people. Many long-term members always sit with their friends and are resistant to getting mixed up because meetings are the only time they get to see their friends. How do we help new members BECOME part of the group so they will remain in our club?”

Kathy H. wrote – “We just had a banner year and recruited eight new members. With so many, It’s hard for our membership committee to give each one individual attention. What can we do to help them want to stay with our club?” Scott T. wrote – “How do you work with club officers to improve her/his skills to better lead our club?” E MAILS RECEIVED FROM ALTRUSANS A District Governor wrote – “ This is a question I asked of the clubs in our District. Do your club’s service projects initiate enthusiasm, interest or are they just fillers to have something to do for your community?”

CLUB REVITALIZATION MANUAL Revitalization Self-analysis is the beginning of revitalization, bringing new life into your club in membership, leadership, and service. With a new perspective and sound planning, you can carry your ideas, enthusiasm and commitment through to constructive, productive revitalizing action. Last Update: January 2013 CLUB REVITALIZATION 2013
