Expressing Emotions Emotions are feelings that a person has. Emotions are what makes us human!! The way in which a person expresses their emotions can be healthful or harmful. Holding anger inside or losing control of your emotions can be harmful!

Think, Pair, Share! What are healthful ways to show emotions? Anger? Sadness? Happiness?

Healthful Ways to Express Emotion Admit your feelings Identify your emotions Calm down Tell others how you’re feeling Walk away from a situation when you feel your losing control Talk with a trusted adult.

Stress The body’s demand to daily living Stressor- a cause of stress Eustress: positive stress which prompts a healthful response

Stress Distress: Stress that is negative and prompts a harmful response.
