Medical studies in France “ASSISTANAT”  Clinical Assistant Professor (“assistant chef de clinique”) for 2-4 years in a clinical specialty  for 2-4 years in a non-clinical specialty  “Assistant hospitalo-universitaire” for 2-4 years in a non-clinical specialty   (biology, physiology, physics etc.).

Medical studies in France Research Formation  During medical studies students can obtain optional certificates in biology to get a Master 1 with 2 or 3 certificates.   Master 2 is a whole year in a lab often during residency   Ph.D. Thesis is obtained during residency or “assistanat” in 3 years with a minimum of 2 or 3 published articles in a peer-reviewed journal.
