SOME WORDS ABOUT STATISTICS Research: it is a study in order to discover new information about a particular issue. For example we are studying how new technology is important in our country and in Slovakia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Population: it is all the people who are concerned in the research. Statistics: it is a way to represent data sintetically. Unit response: it is a specific value of a sample. Distribution: it is a way of displaying data.

The questions we have analyzed are: What kind of communication do you prefer? What do you use to celebrate Christmas and other festivities? In which way do you think the computer modifies your life?

The favourite kind of communication is talking face to face and the highest percentage is in Slovakia with the 70%. Chatting on the internet and talking on the phone have almost the same data, but the biggest different is in Bulgaria where for chatting on the phone the percentage is 35% and for talking face to face is 8%.

In Bulgaria the maggiority of the peolple prefer talking face to face, on the second place there is chatting on the internet and on the third talking on the phone. The females are the highest percentage on talking face to face while males are the highest on chatting on the internet and talking on the phone. In chatting on the internet the maggiority are high school students with a percentage of 100%, the minority are teachers and there aren’t parents and grandparents. In talking face to face the maggiority are grandparents with a percentage of 100%, there aren’t high school students. In talking on the phone the maggiority are parents and there aren’t grandparents, high school students, teachers and middle school students.

In Slovakia the people prefer talking face to face with a percentage of 70% and the maggiority are females. Chatting on the internet and talking on the phone have almost the same percentage and the maggiority are males. In chatting on the internet the percentage isn’t highest of 20% and there are only high school and middle school students. In talking face to face the highest percentage is 100% for teacher and the lower is 48% for parent. In talking on the phone the maggiority are parents and the minority are high school students, there aren’t teachers and middle school students.

In Turkey the maggiority of the people prefer talking face to face with almost the same percentage from male and female. On the second place there is talking and the phone, where the maggiority are females. On the third there is chatting on the internet where the maggiority are males. In chatting on the internet the highest percentage is the 60% of the high school students, there aren’t parents and teachers. In talking face to face the highest percentage is the 100% of the teachers. In talking on the phone the highest percentage is 50% of the parents and there aren’t high school and middle school students.

In Italy the maggiority of the people prefer talking face to face and the highest percentage are female. On the second place there is talking on the phone and on the third chatting on the internet where the highest percentage are males. In chatting on the internet the highest percentage is the 38% of the middle school students and there aren’t grandparents. In talking face to face the maggiority are parents with a percentage of 82% and the minority middle school students with a percentage of 50%. In talking on the phone the highest percentage in the 100% of the grandparents and the lower is the 9% of the parents.

The type of comunication more used to celebrate Christmas is the text message, expecially in Italy and in Slovakia. , postcard and other have more or less the same percentauge.

In Bulgaria the type of comunication more used to celebrate Christmas is the text massage. The other types have more or less the same percentuage. are used by middle school students, parents and taechers and the maggiority are teachers. Postcard are used by grandparents, middle school students and teachers and the maggiority are grandparents with the percentuage of the 100%. Text message are used by high school students, middle school students, parents and teachers and the maggiority are high school students with the percentuage of the 100%.

Others sistems are used by grandparents, middle and high school students, parents and teachers and the highest percentuage is the 100% of the grandparents. are used by high school students and teachers. Postcards are used by high school and middle school students and parents and the maggiority are middle school students with a percentuage of 10%.

The people who think that computer influenced very much their life are very few, while the maggiority think that computer isn’t necessary because influenced very little. But also there is who think that computer modifies their lifes, even if not much.

In Bulgaria, the people don’t think that computer can modifies their life a lot. En fact, the highest percentuages are for “not much”, “little” and “very little” and are more or less the same, around 28%. E differences between male and female aren’t very relevant. The people who think that computer can modifies their life “very much” and “much” are very few, the highest percentuage is the 20% of the high school students. For “not much” the percentuages are high and the maximum is the 68% of the teachers. But the highest percentuages in general are for “little” ane “very little” and are the 80% of the high school students and the 83% of the grandparents.

In Slovakia, very few people think that computer can modifies their lifes a lot, only the 3,65%. On the contrary, the maggiority of the people think that computer can modifies their lifes very little, the 33,22%. Almost nobody think that computer modifies their lifes very much. For “much” and “not much”, the percentuages increase and the maximum is the 50% of the middle school students. No teachers and no parents think that computer can modifies their lifes a little and the highest percentuage in general is the 70% of the grandparents in “very little”.

In Turkey, the 50% of the people think that computer can modifies their lifes very little, the others percentuages are distribuited with more or less the same frequency. The differences between males and females aren’t very relevant and the biggest is in “very little” where the males are the 40% and the females the 60%. The maggiority of the datas are present in “very little”, where we can find the highest percentuages with the 65% of the high school students and the 84% of the teachers. In “much” and “little” the number of datas ia very few, en fact we can find only the high school students with a percentuage around the 9%.

In Italy the 32,18 think that the computer modifies a little their lifes. On the contrary the 2,52% think that it modifies the life very much. The other datas are distribuited almost regullary. There are no relevant differences between males and females. The data that catch the attention is the 100% of the grandparents that think that computer modifies their life “much”. This data is very particular because in the others nation the grandparents think that computer modifies thier lifes “little” or “very little”. The others datas are distributed regullary, the lower percentage is the 2% of the high school students in “very much”.
