Earls Colne Cricket Club Revised Draft Three Year Plan & Interim Targets 16 th February 2011

Three year plan & interim targets The Committee is asked to discuss and agree a three year plan for the development of the cricket club. The main purpose of the plan is to provide a platform to improve the playing strength of the club (in terms of player numbers, teams etc) and to invest in better playing facilities (principally, new nets). Adopting this plan will require a new effort on the part of the club members to contribute their time and effort to recruit more players, maintain and develop playing facilities and to raise funds for investment in the club As part of the three year plan, interim targets for 2011 should be adopted

Three year plan – key elements By 2014, we will achieve the following: –Significantly bigger pool of players with at least 30% from Earls Colne –Three competitive teams playing at the weekend (including two on Saturday or Sunday) –At least one promotion to a higher division for the two existing teams –An occasional team for social/evening/midweek cricket –Two colts teams plus regular kwik cricket –Organise a cricket week –Go on at least one cricket tour –One girls/ladies team –An investment fund of at least £20,000 derived from club fund raising activities and matching funds form external sources –A new two lane cricket net on the site near the tennis courts financed from investment fund

2011 targets Immediate campaign through direct mail, advertising & other forms of publicity to increase the pool of players for the 2011 season Better organised and more effective communications (with members & outside world including press) through forum, website, letters etc Pre-season communication with members to generate enthusiasm & interest for the coming season Organise pre-season player registration & fund raising event Increase pool of volunteers Organise pre-season volunteers/work party to prepare ground & wicket Target promotion of at least one of the teams to a higher division in 2011 Ensure that Club Mark status is kept Raise £10,000 in funds through club activities & matching sources
