What does this mean for our menu? Renal Diet What does this mean for our menu? NAS Vs. Low-Sodium Diet What’s the difference? NAS diet is limited to 3,000 – 4,000 mg of Sodium per day. Low-sodium diet is limited to 2,000 mg of sodium per day.

Renal, Low Sodium, & NAS Diet Things to Remember: Daily Limits Vs. Meal Limits: When the screen flashes red warning that the sodium or potassium may go above what is recommended for the meal, check previous meals. Renal Diet Sodium: not to exceed 2,050 mg per day total Potassium: not to exceed 2,050 mg per day total Never tell a patient no without offering an alternative
