John Cabot By Bryce Gearhart

John cabot was a young merchant John cabot was a young merchant. His task was to find new trade routes and claim land for England.

On his second voyage he sailed from England across the Atlantic Ocean and to the coast of Cheapskate Bay.

John Cabot sailed with only one small ship and seventeen men

His men along with John Cabot himself, spread diseases, claimed land for England, and provided new map information for England.

John Cabot sailed from 1497-1498

Like Columbus he never knew he was in the “New world” he always thought he was in the West Indies.

John Cabot claimed two different parts of the New World his Italian name was Giovanni Caboto
