Presenting the First Web Share by WORD Membership All participants will be registering on-line this school year for the state WORD membership. This presentation will help and answer questions about registering on-line.

Purpose: This will help you navigate through the procedure to register electronically for individuals joining WORD and to be a part of your council and/or events this school year, Helpful Hints: Have a computer available for walk-ins to register on-line for the WORD membership fee. We want to encourage all participants to join our organization and this will provide councils a percentage of the fee to be used for future events. The Winter and Spring events organized by the state uses a portion of the membership fees and registration cost to bring nationally known presenters. Local councils in Good Standing by providing profit sharing State and local councils work together in presenting events

Information Used for Council Events Notification Local councils will send messages to let you know what is happening near you. The state executive board notifies the International Literacy Association (ILA) the total state membership

Attendees want to register at our event!  To help all councils in keeping updated membership lists, WORD Membership chair will send once a month the total membership list to all councils.  Need a list of the most current list before your event, to the WORD membership chair a few days before and the list will be sent as late as the evening before the event.  Attendees have not registered as a member should be able to sign- up using a computer at the event. Payment should not be taken for membership. Individuals should pay by credit card to help keep an accurate record at the state level. Who Attends the Board Meetings? WORD would like to invite interested members to attend our next board meeting on February 6 th starting at 9:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Suites in Kent. We will also provide an option to attend via virtual meeting. It is important to have each councils’ president and membership chair to attend. Thank you!
