Of The United States

 The bald Eagle is a large powerful brown bird.  It has a white head and tail.  In 1782 our Founding Fathers chose the eagle to be our national bird.  The eagle lives only in North American.  Bald means “marked with white.”

 The American Flag has 13 stripes.  Seven are red and 6 are white.  There are also 50 stars.  The stripes represent the original colonies.  The 50 stars represent the 50 states.  The flag was designed in 1777.

* The Liberty Bell is the symbol of FREEDOM. * The bell was cast in England London * The bell cracked when it arrived in the US. * It was mostly made of tin and copper. * A second bell was made and it too became cracked. * The bell was last rung on Feb. 23, 1846 for George Washington’s Birthday.

* On July 4 th, 1776 the US Seal was created. * Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson was given this task. * This would be the emblem and national coat of arms and show we were a independent nation and we were free. * The center is a bald eagle. * It has a shield on it with thirteen red and white stripes. * There is 13 stars on the crest, 13 stars on the shield, 13 arrows in the eagles left claw, thirteen olives and leaves in the eagles right claw and 13 letters in the motto. * The number 13 represents the first 13 states.
