 你好 ! Have you ever been to China? If you do, you will of course know the Great Wall of China. It is one of the famous places in China. This huge building has also become the most architectural military structure in the world. It is also famous because of it is excellent construction and absolute masterpiece. The Great Wall is very important to the Chinese people because this place used to be the place for protection in the war era.. This amazing building is made of bricks, stones, woods and more. You can say it huge cause the route is 20,000 kilometers. Want to know more about this amazing and enormous building.

 长城是中国的名胜古迹。中国长城建于约 2000 年, 建立由 几个不同的皇帝。长城是中国最有名的建筑。  The Great Wall was one of the most famous ancient historical buildings in China. The Great Wall was built for about 2000 years ago, and was built by several different emperors. The Great Wall was the Chinese most famous building. Great Wall was as long as 3,107 miles and was used as a defense long ago. The Great Wall was built by multiple dynasties since it took a long time just to finish a side of wall. The idea of building the Great Wall of China started when four or more group of civilization grew at the same time. China built the Great Wall to defend them from the other civilization. The Great Wall is 25 feet tall and feet wide.

 It was known the it took years of hard labor to build it. More than 300,000 soldiers and 500,000 commoners work to build it. Because there was extreme weather, many workers died there and were buried with the building of the wall itself. The Great Wall material was bricks, limestone, tiles and many other strong materials to make the Great Wall stay strong. 300,000 soldiers were redirected to build the wall. The, 1,800,000 laborers were asked to build the great wall. Over 1,000,000 commoner were also forced to build the Great Wall. The Chinese Emperors ordered everybody to work. Criminals were forced to work and laboring for building the Great Wall as their punishment. Boys were forced to work (children) until mothers worried about giving birth, widowers worried to remarry, and men were scared to be engaged. The building of the Great Wall has caused death to many people and brings much number of injuries.

 The great wall was said to be when seven powerful states appeared at the same time. Each state builds their own section of the wall to defend them. Then Emperor Qin took over six states and created the first kingdom in China. He wanted to build the wall longer so he ordered thousands of people to continue the walls that are already created by the states and connect them. The Ming dynasty was the peak moment of the great wall building. The Emperor of the Ming Dynasty ordered the wall to be longer and WIDER. The previous walls that were created in the Qin Dynasty were thin and small so the emperor wanted it to be wide so that people and guards can go on the wall. Now, some of the great wall parts are disappearing and some even already becoming ruins. The entire great wall was finished and done in the Ming Dynasty. It now stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia with a total length of MORE than 4,000 Miles (6,400 KM). Millions of workers died when building the great wall. The workers were slaves so they don’t receive any money but they only received food. They died mostly because of a disease and all of them were buried next to the great wall. They build the great wall to protect China’s Northern part.

 Even though the great wall was built in the ancient times, it is used to protect china from the wars of Japan and America. In 1938 the Japanese empire colonized China and as a result they had a war. The Chinese people used the wall as a defense; you can still see some of the scratches and bullet holes on the great wall. There are many watch towers located between the intervals of the great wall. In the Ming dynasty they build the western part of the great wall wider so that traders and travelers from the Silk Road can go in and out of china safely. Also in the Ming dynasty at least 1 million soldiers fought to protect the great wall from Barbarians and Non-Chinese. The Chinese people were the first to invent the wheel barrow. They used the wheel barrow as a transportation to transport the materials and goods to build. Before and during the Ming dynasty the Chinese people used rammed earth, stone and adobe as the main materials of the great wall. They didn’t use any cement. After the Ming Dynasty, China used bricks and some cement to continue on the construction.

 So the Great Wall of China is a big construction and a symbol of china’s past. That is the symbol of how china improvised and make a good construction.  It has been known throughout the world. And even tourists will know it and go there. There has been much improvement since it was first built. Now it serves as an excellent tourism place.

 The great wall of china is important for the chinese people because the great wall of china represents China’s ancient/past civilization in the BCs. It is a very memorable thing for all the chinese. Based on the history, qin shi huangdi built the great wall. Since the Great Wall has become one of the seven wonders in Earth, the chinese people took good care of it. It will be very fun to go and visit there. So, from all our group information, you can know what Great Wall is and its story behind. Thank you so much for having time to read it.
