The body is bathed and laid on a long, high table The brain cavity is broken by using a slender hook like instrument that is pushed up the nostril, through the ethmoid bone, and into the cavity. Then a spirally twisted rod with a spoon like tip is worked in and draws the brain out bit by bit. The mouth is cleansed and wads of linens soaked in sweet oil are placed within. The nose is also cleansed and plugged with wax. The face is coated with a resinous paste and a piece of linen is placed over each eyeball, the lids drawn over them. An incision is made on the left side of the body, and the liver, lungs, intestines, and stomach is removed. Each organ was wrapped in resin-soaked cloth and put into Canopic jars. The body cavity was then cleansed with palm wine, and thin wires were placed around the toes and fingers. Then corpse is bathed and covered with natron then put outside to dry. After it was dried the body was bathed again and anointed with sweet oils. The body was wrapped with about 150ft. of linen. Now you have a mummy!
