Grade 4 Social Studies.

 Ask the class what they think consequences is? From 2-3 students.  Write down answers from 2-3 students on the SMARTboard for the class to see all the answers they gave.  Explain that actions have positive and negative consequences.

 Show a video from on Jordon Romero climbing mount everstwww.youtube.com  Discussed as a class what the consequences of Jordon’s exploration was.

 Continuing with the lesson I had the textbook up on the SMARTboard with the help of the portal system.  I would ask for volunteers to read each page and then discuss the material at what they read.  Looking up at the SMARTboard, I would explain what each picture was.

 There was four pages that went along with this lesson so we would go through all four pages and each was a different type of exploration and the consequences of each one. I would ask for volunteers and after reading the pages I would explain what was in each picture.  After completing the reading the class was handed out BlackLine Master 4.5 that dealt with pos./neg. Consequences of the exploration read. We then went over the answer sheet and the students gave their answers about the consequences.
