Event One The first event that I think is important is that Bruno’s dad (The commandant of Auschwitz) is actually based off a real Auschwitz commandant. The second event that is in the novel and that exists is the concentration camp Auschwitz. I think the reason that they put Auschwitz in the novel is because that was a big camp, and that was a horrible place(All the concentration camps were terrible). Event Two
