There are two measurements of the wall: one being that it is about 1500 miles long the other one was about 4000 miles long. The wall started out being called The wall of Qin Shihuangdi then as the Ming dynasty built on it was then called The Ming Walls by the 17 th 18 th century the Europeans referred to it as Great Wall of China.
