Tip Do not use “and” when writing whole numbers. The word “and” will be used when you are reading numbers with decimals. Six hundred and ninety-thousand, and four hundred and ninety-two. and four hundred and ninety-two.

How to write large numbers in word form Thousand Ones Write the numbers as you would read them: 1 st Start with the period farthest to the left and write it in word form. 2 nd Continue with the period to the right and write it in word form.
