Komańcza Greek-catholic church

Komańcza It’s the village in Sanok county, in Komańcza community. There are two old churches: orthodox and greek-catholic.

The history of church The former greek-catholic church in Komańcza was built in In 1963 the temple was taken away from greek-catholic community and given to polish orthodox church. Greek-catholic community decided to build new church in other place. The building ended in The authorities didn’t agree for building of new church, so community transfered a wooden church from Dydyńce.

The look The church in Komańcza is made from wood. It is built on layed with stone framework. The roof is made from sheet metal.

The look inside Inside walls are wood-panelled. Ceiling is painted with original polichromy representing scenes from New Testament. The church is ornamented with beautiful iconostasis from the end of 19th century. In the side altar we can see adorable icon of Pokorowa Mother of God. There are club-room and utility room.
