PREPARING FOR BABY’S ARRIVAL Planning and Preparing your delivery

PREPARING FOR BABY’S ARRIVAL A- POST-PARTUM DOULA B- LIFE INSURANCE C- WILL PACKING FOR THE HOSPITAL

POST-PARTUM DOULA what is a Doula? - New parents know how difficult it is to come back home with a new baby, especially if it is the first one. - The first few weeks are the most critical, where most families need help and support. Post-partum doulas are experienced women, who provide assistance on infant feeding, basic newborn care, and physical and emotional support after delivery. - They provide support to the whole family, helping them to find their role in the process, as opposed to a baby nurse who takes care of the baby exclusively.

Doula: services provided  Breastfeeding support  Light housekeeping  Running errands  Basic newborn care (diapering, bathing, feeding)  Baby soothing techniques  Sibling care  Referral to local resources (parenting classes, pediatrician, lactation support)

Life insurance Mandatory to plan child’s financial security It is an insurance that will pay the beneficiary a pre- determined amount of money in case of death, to replace for the lost income or to create an education fund for the child Anyone with a dependent family member needs a life insurance Most common types of life insurance: term life insurance and whole life insurance Consult a financial expert to determine the best plan

WILL Although the subject of death is a taboo people hate to talk about, new parents have the responsibility towards their offspring to have a will, in order to insure the financial future of the children, and their guardian after one’s death. The will includes:  Distribution of property and wealth  Designate a guardian for children  Healthcare directives, life support Contact a lawyer who can best assist you with the will.
