Gender Studies ● Examines patterns of thought, behavior, values, power, and interactions ● People construct their own gender identities but are influenced by societal values o Society operates under established roles and norms for different genders ● ∴ meaning comes from the role gender plays and why that’s important The Snapper

Homework 1.Read Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree. 2.Analyze the text using what you’ve learned about Critical Race Theory, Ecocriticism, and Gender Studies and our class models that analyze Maleficent. This is A LOT to do in one night.  Do what you can and I’ll stamp what you bring in. Your analysis packet is due Thursday, at the beginning of class.
