 Location  The Pueblo Indians lived in the Southwest.  They lived in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico.  Pueblo Indians are made of several different tribes including the Hopi.

 Housing  The Pueblo lived in apartment like houses made of adobe.  This was the best for them because it kept them cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

 Clothing and Tools  Pueblo women wore mantas which are traditional dresses.  Pueblo men wore kilts made of animal skins.  They also wear beaded necklaces and body paint.  To hunt, the Pueblo used bow and arrows or clubs and spears.

 Food  The Pueblo people were excellent farmers. They grew corn, squash and beans.  The men hunted deer and antelope while the women gathered nuts, berries, fruit and herbs.

 Artifacts  The Pueblo Indians are known for their beautiful pottery, weavings and jewelry.  They would often use these items to trade with other Native American tribes.

 Traditions and Religion  Every year Pueblo tribes gather to perform the Corn Dance.  The men and women wear special clothing.  The dance is a sacred ritual for the Pueblo and it is not usually performed for outsiders.
