Anatomy And Physiology Structure and Function

Define Anatomy and Physiology Anatomy: the study of internal and external structure and the physical relationship between body parts. Physiology: the study of how living organisms perform their vital functions. These subjects are interrelated: Form fits Function

Types of Anatomy Anatomy can be divided into gross or microscopic anatomy. Gross Anatomy : Macroscopic anatomy - Visible with the unaided eye. Types of : Surface Anatomy Regional Anatomy Systemic Anatomy

Microscopic Anatomy Concerns structures that cannot be seen without magnification. Types of microscopic anatomy -Cytology -Histology

Physiology Physiology is the study of the function of anatomical structures. Human Physiology: the study of functions of the human body Cell Physiology Special Physiology Systemic Physiology Pathophysiology
