Kush Africa By: Arthur Clark & Marshaun Sherman

Geographic Location  Kush was a civilization centered in the North African region of Nubia, located in what is today northern Sudan. One of the earliest civilizations to develop in the Nile River Valley.

Kush Religion,..  Religion: In the beginning, they worshiped the same gods as did the ancient Egyptians, with a few extra throw in like the three-headed Lion God. They mummified their dead. They build pyramids. Kush pyramids looked a little differently - they had flat tops, but they served the same purpose; they were tombs. The people of Kush loved stories from the Bible. Many became Christians because of the Bible stories they heard from passing traders.

Kush Women  Women played prominent roles in affairs of the state, occupying positions of power and prestige, the natural outgrowth of which was the development of a line of queens. Unlike the queens of Egypt who derived power from their husbands, the Queens of Kush were independent rulers, to the extent that it was often thought that Meroe never had a king. Four of these queens—Amanerinas, Amanishakhete, Nawidemak and Maleqereabar—became distinctively known as Candaces, a corruption of the word Kentake.

Kush Art,. Music & Literature …  The Kush developed their own language, and eventually their own cursive script  Their Arts were very, creative and abnormal, I guess its cool looking.?

Kush House Structures  Their Houses were made of Soil and hardened sand, there design was one of a Egyptian Pyramid, Only Smaller, They lived in separate villages..

How they made money..  They went by the system of supply and Demand..  Kush Africans did a lot of trading with neighboring countries to refill their Markets

Countries They conquered  The Kingdom of Kush reached its first peak between 1700 and 1500 BC. In 1600 BC they allied with the Hyksos and conquered Egypt beginning the 2nd Intermediate Period. The Egyptians took back Egypt and much of Nubia 50 years later, establishing great temples at Gebel Barkal and Abu Sibel In 750 BC, the Kushite ruler Piye invaded Egypt and established the 25th Egyptian dynasty during the 3rd Intermediate Period, or Napatan period; the Napatans were defeated by the Assyrians, who destroyed the Kushite and Egyptian armies. The Kushites fled to Meroe, which flourished for the following thousand years.

Governmental Structure  The kush civilization went By the Kerma Culture witch was widely used back in the B.C Days, Its Structure is one of a Monarchy.
