Alaska by:Riley White State symbols Alaska's bird is a Willow Ptarmigan. The state flower is a Forget me not. The state mineral is gold. Their state tree is the Sitka spruce. Their state motto is north to the future.

Geography Mt.Mickenly is 20,320 ft. Petroleum and natural gasses are Alaska's most important minerals. The lowest point is sea level at the pacific coast. The total area of Alaska is 1,717,854 cm. or (665,261

History The USA got Alaska a from Russia. In 1959 Alaska a became a state. A ferry system began in A couple years later tourism became a major industry. After that an earth quake struck on central Alaska.

Tourism One major industry is fishing. There is lots of national parks in Alaska. Lots of people watch the northern lights in Alaska. There are lots of cruises in Alaska. In 1996 over 1.3 million people spent over1 billion dollars on cruises.

Alaska misc. A sax man native totem pole park they carve thunderbirds in their totem poles. At glacier bay national park there is glaciers all over the place. There is a dog sled race in Nome, Alaska and its called the Iditarod. There is a big pipeline in Alaska and it travels barrels of oil in it. There is a Unalaska world record halibut derby you get $100,000 if you catch a new world record for halibut.
