Iqra university IU TOPIC: SOCIAL Benefits OF EDUCATION presented BY: NAIMA BATOOL student of M-phil (education) TEACHING FACULTY: DR SAAD ISMAIL Iqra university, gulshan campus, Karachi

EDUCATION  In social science, it is too difficult to give a comprehensive and one single definition of any term. that why the education does not have a definition that is universal acceptance.  One of the main reason is that the meaning of different words in social science change with the passage of time

THE PERSONALITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL IS ACOMPLEX ONE.IT HAS DIFFERENT SPECTS,  Social  Physical  Intellectual  Moral  Spiritual  Aesthetic

 These different aspects has led different definition of education  A spiritual stresses the self-realization aspect of education.  A moralist thinks that education is a person which leads to the formation of character.

 A present day economist is inclined to think education is a process which makes an Individual economically creative member of society.  One of the popular belief in education is that ‘’knowledge leads to wisdom’’.

IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION  Imagine a world without schools and colleges ! Impossible, right?  No matter how much we hate waking up or going for school and for studying all night for tests and exam. because we all know that education is very important.

 Now I am not saying that uneducated man has no chance of being successful or an educated man will surely do well in life.  Exceptions are always there. How ever most of us will agree that an educated person gets better opportunities in life. it is easier for him to become successful and realize his dreams as compared to some one who is uneducated.

HERE ARE 15 REASONS WHY EDUCATION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT 15.OVER COMING SUPERSITITIONS:  Superstitions are baseless, useless and may effect your life negatively. because of education we able to aware about these useless superstitions and replace such beliefs with reason and logic. 14.KEEPING UP WITH THE WORLD:  We are living in an ever changing world. and if you don’t want to be left behind, you must keep up with the world which is moving really fast. and without education it will be really difficult for you to adopt these changes. for example new technology you can run by education.

13.EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE:  Educated people know better about preventive methods which protect them from number of diseases and education enables you to care of your self as well as your family. 12.RESPECT:  Everybody likes a wise and knowledgeable person. example id front of you, educated people are considered highly reputable in the society. The more educated you are, the more respect you will get from those around you.

11. HELPS YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD:  If you want an answer to your ’What’s and ‘How’s and ‘Where’s. education will help you to understand the world you live in, you get know more about your surrounding as well as the whole world through subject like history. geography, science etc. 10.MAKES YOU CONFIDENT:  Education gives you the confidence to express your views and opinions.

9.BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY:  An educated member certainly has a great chance to contributed to his community and will participate in the ongoing changes and development. 8.ECONOMIC GROWTH OF THE NATION:  Australia, USA and Japan are few countries with very high literacy rates. These countries are externally prosperous and the citizen have a high per capita income, on the other hand in undeveloped and developing nations, where the literacy rate is not as high, a number of people are still living below the poverty line. so the education plays vital role for the economic growth and prosperity of nation.

7.MAKE WORLD SAFER AND PEACEFULL: Education majorly effects our understanding of the different between right and wrong. Educated person is well aware of consequence of wrong / illegal action. if you are educated your are well aware of your rights, the law and your responsibilities towards the society. Hence the education is an important factor which contributes in social harmony and peace.

6.SAVES FROM BEING FOOLED/ CHEATED:  Education saves you from being exploited and fooled. we live in a country where some people enjoy for making fool anybody so education gives us awareness and save us from that type of people. 5.TURNS YOUR DREAMS IN REALITY:  what is your dream? your aim in life? do you want to become rich? do you want to be extremely successful who is respected by people? well, the education is the key to all dreams. By education you can get and turn all your dreams into reality.

4. MAKES YOU SELF DEPENDENT:  Education is very important if you want to be a self dependent person. Education helps you want to be a self dependent person. It helps you become financially independent but also makes you wiser so that you can make your own decisions. 3. EQUALITY: Education gives equal opportunities to all types of social classes, every body can get opportunity by Education. Education also plays a major role in women empowerment.

2. JOB OPPORTUNITIES:  The more educated you are the better career option you have. 1. SECURE FUTURE AND STABLE LIFE: A great job, a good social reputation are few of the many benefits of being an educated person. Education is must for a promising and secure future and stable life.(Insha Allah)
