Imagism Notes Imagism: a movement in poetry between 1912 and 1917, in which poets focused on achieving “clarity of expression through the use of precise visual images.” Imagists rejected abstract language, attempting only to present the reader with exact and detailed imagery. Imagery : Descriptive language that relates to one of the five senses (sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing)
