State Float: You will design and create a parade float for your state at home. Your State Float should be made out of a shoe box or other small box. Parade floats are beautiful and colorful, so be creative! Use tissue paper, construction paper, etc to cover all sides of your box. Models, pictures or figures can be added to add interest and creativity. Put your float together carefully. Your float must include: State name in neat lettering State’s Capital State Flag State Symbols (tree, bird, etc) Date of Statehood Outline of states shape Choose at least 3 other items that you would like to include. Rubrics for both parts of this project are on the back. Use your rubric to make sure that your project is complete….and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!
