#12 – The Blood Of The Passover

 We must be prepared for the coming judgment and wrath of God.  Only those protected by the blood of the Lamb will inherit eternal life.

Exodus 12 – the first Passover Important as a type of Christ and salvation through Him. Many new observances introduced for Passover.

 Exodus 12:2 -- “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you.

 Vs. 6 – “You shall keep (the lamb) until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to kill it at twilight.”

It Was A Meal For Haste Vs. 11 – “Now you shall eat it in this manner: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste – it is the Lord’s Passover.

 Vs. 14 – “Now this day will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.”

 Vs. 13 – “The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

Taught By Jesus Matthew 25:31-46 Christ will sit in judgment on the throne. All nations gathered. Separated as sheep from goats. Sheep welcomed into the joys of the Father. Goats go “into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels….”

 2 Corinthians 5:10-11 – “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men….”

 “For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you…when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction….

 2 Peter 3:10-13 – “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God….”

 Malachi 4:1 – “For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.”

 1 Corinthians 5:7 – “Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.”

 1 Peter 1:19 -- …but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.”

 Mark 14:12 – “On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was being sacrificed, His disciples said to Him, ‘Where do You want us to go and prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

 “…being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”

 Revelation 5:9 – “…Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”

 Matthew 26:28 – “…for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.”  Colossians 1:13-14 – For He rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

 Ephesians 1:3,7 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.”

 Romans 6:22-23 – “But now having been freed form sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
