Assignment Guidelines The Passion Speech Assignment Guidelines

Step 1 – The Passion Select a hobby, a dream, an aspiration, any activity that you get excited about. What do you find interesting, fun, or simply amazing? Reading: The five books you must take with you to a deserted island Dance: What do you look for when you go to the ballet? Cross-country skiing: What ski races can you compete in here in Anchorage? The challenge is to find a MANAGEABLE topic. Take note! This is not a “ How To” speech

Step 2 – Gather your Information As always, begin with an outline Take your audience on a journey This could be an opportunity to link your intro, conclusion, and transitions thematically! Find a way to convey the facts, realities, and EXCITEMENT that you have for this passion

Step 3 – Incorporate a unique visual aid Handouts Something tactile that can be passed around Think of creative and interesting ways that you can share your passion with your audience

Step – Prepare your speech The focus for this speech will be: Transitions Introduction Conclusion AND time 3 minutes OR 5-7 minutes (sign up for Wednesday)

Step 5 – Practice and Delivery It is really easy to tell the speakers who practice their speech 10 times from those who practice only once or twice. So practice, practice, practice, practice, practice!!! Deliver your speech! The speech schedule is online.
