WHAT IS I&RS? The I&RS team is positioned to assist and support educators, parents, and community members in helping our students achieve their potential. This program of collaboration requires careful planning and maintenance to become an integral and valued part of the educational program.

History of Intervention and Referral Services N.J.A.C. 6:26, Intervention and Referral Services for General Education Pupils July 1994- State Board of Education adopted rules to provide district boards of education with standards for the delivery or intervention and referral services for pupils in the general education program.

MISSION STATEMENT To identify, intervene, provide appropriate referrals, and follow through with at risk youth in the areas of academics, attendance, health, and behaviors. mI

When to make a referral Academic Issues Attendance Behavioral Health General Education Students; declining or failing grades; consistently not completing assignments Attendance Chronic absenteeism, tardiness, or cutting class Behavioral Fighting; verbal assaults; consistent disciplinary action; Health Deterioration of personal appearance and/or hygiene; substance abuse issues; mental health concerns
