What is the Evidence? A. Historians rely on evidence to draw conclusions. 1. Evidence - proof that something is true B. Historians draw evidence from two types of sources 1. Primary - evidence from an eyewitness to an event 2. Secondary - evidence from a source that is not an eyewitness C. Historians must determine if source is reliable 1. A source’s point of view can affect its reliability. How? a. may influence what information is included & what is omitted 2. A source’s bias can affect its reliability. How? a. information may or may not be given truthfully
