Fri., Mar. 25, 2011 Good morning, English 11! Good morning! Please pick up a Reflective Essay Packet. We will go to the lab soon – but it partly depends on you.

Reflective Essay You should have finished REVISING to improve the structure and content of your essay. Make the changes and print a last final draft FOR PROOFREADING prior to printing your final draft today. ADD YOUR WRITING PROPMT TO THE TOP Of YOUR FIRST PAGE (What you chose from p. 4 of the packet.)

Reflective Essay Read examples from pp in the Reflective Essay Packet (writing errors that could have been caught with good proofreading and thought). Have a peer proofread your draft today. Proofreader – write your name on the top of the draft you are proofreading.

Reflective Essay Did the writer: use complete sentences and vary the lengths? use active verbs (spoke, repeated, helped)? use correct punctuation? (including commas, apostrophes, and quotation marks). capitalize the first letter of each sentence as well as all proper nouns (Mr. Gatsby, Chicago) and the pronoun “I”? make the subjects and verbs agree in all sentences? (Billy run/ran to the store). Did the writer use correct spelling (their, there, they’re) and word choice (definitely/defiantly)?

Reflective Essay After proofreading, make your final changes and print your last draft. Put in this order FROM THE TOP – Grading slip Final draft Draft #3 (proofreading copy) Draft #2 (editing copy) Draft #1 (first typed draft you circled verbs and transitions on). Your outline.
